Here are FOUR things YOU can do in 20 MINUTES to support the Villebois Sunday Market, which is held every weekend in the Villebois Village Center in Wilsonville, Oregon:

#1 Recruit volunteers and send them to the market manager.

Successful markets have a strong, active volunteer base. If you want to keep the market at Villebois, we need YOU, and we need your friends and neighbors.Volunteer at the market – we have morning and afternoon shifts – or take a leadership role, and help during the week with a variety of tasks. Office hours are from 10:30 a.m. to Noon Tuesdays.#2 Talk, talk, talk. The best way to increase attendance and to recruit volunteers is through cheap, good, old-fashioned word of mouth. Edelman does an annual Trust Barometer, and “a person like me” continues to be the most trusted source of information. Didn’t you know? YOU are that trusted person. We need you. So get talking!

#3 Talk online, too. Do you use e-mail? Twitter? Facebook? LinkedIn? Villebois Sunday Market Featured in The Oregonian

On May 17, 2009, The Oregonian featured the Villebois Sunday Market in an article about local Portland-area neighborhoods near farmers markets on the front cover of its Homes & Rentals section. Titled “FRESH FROM THE FARM: Markets sweeten a listing’s appeal”, the article focuses on how neighborhood farmers markets are an increasing bonus for many of today’s home buyers.

Held in Wilsonville’s Villebois Village Center every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Villebois Sunday Market is the Portland area’s most recent farmers market to open.

Villebois Sunday Market Opened May 3

The 2009 Villebois Sunday Market Season has officially begun! From now on, the local farmers market will run every Sunday through October 18. The market is open to the public between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and is located at the Villebois Village Center, at the corners of Villebois Drive and Barber Street.

Vendors at the Villebois Sunday Market range from favorite locally based farms, such as Unger Farms, Canby Asparagus Farm and Ken & June’s Hazelnut’s, to nurseries like Oregon City-based Alita’s Garden and Red Dragon Nursery. Market goers will also be able to try tasty treats from The Village Waffle Baker, SweeTreats, Humdinger Kettle Korn and JGelati Italian Ice or lunch on mouthwatering barbeque from Haagenson’s Catering & BBQ Ribslayer To Go. Arts and craft vendors like Ilona’s Bead Werk and Sophisticated Beads will also have booths at the Villebois Sunday Market.
