This Sunday, August 30^th, the Children Cancer Association (CCA) will be in attendance at the Villebois Sunday Market in Wilsonville, Oregon’s Villebois neighborhood selling raffle tickets to individuals interested in winning a new 2009 Mini Cooper valued at $28,700 and equipped with premium packages. All proceeds from the raffle will benefit the CCA, so you know you’ll be making a difference in your community.

The winner of the new Mini Cooper will be announced at the CCA’s 13th Annual Celebration of Courage Family Festival on Sunday, September 13^th from Noon to 4 p.m. at One World Trade Center in downtown Portland. Come celebrate the heroism and bravery of the children and teens the CCA serves with a fun-filled afternoon of free arts & crafts, face-painting, balloon art, live music and much, much more.

The CCA will also unveil its Wall of Courage display, featuring the portraits of 25 local children and teens selected for their grace and courage in battling a serious illness. Many of these “Community Heroes” are on hand at the festival to greet guests, celebrate with their families, and enjoy their “Hero” status.

With 20 years of experience in real estate finance and development, Acheson most recently worked as the CFO with CXA Group, a start-up developer and operator of independent senior living facilities across the country. Acheson brings an extensive résumé and diverse portfolio of accomplishments and experience to Costa Pacific Communities. He originally began his career at Mellon Bank in Pittsburgh and New York, followed by a career as Vice President and head of Private Investment Analysis at a regional money management firm in Portland, Ore.

Additionally, Acheson was CFO of a real estate development and operating firm in Montana and Senior Vice President of Morley Capital Management, a national money management firm based in Oregon. He also has experience as Director of Capital Markets at Pacific Security Capital where he raised debt and equity funds for a wide variety of national real estate projects.

Acheson received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Virginia where he was an Echols Scholar. He also received a Masters of Business Administration degree in Finance with distinction from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.

Kick off the summer reading season now! The Villebois Events Committee (V.E.C.) and Villebois Ladies Book Club recently announced that on Monday, June 29^th between 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. they will partner together to host the First Annual Villebois Summer Book Exchange under the gazebo in Sofia Park.

Residents are encouraged to bring a book and exchange it for another book! If you are interested in donating your used to books to the Summer Book Exchange, you may drop off your books at the Sofia Park gazebo on Monday, June 29th before the exchange between 3 and 4 p.m.

Driving Directions: From I-5, take exit 283 toward Wilsonville. Head west on SW Wilsonville Road, then turn right at SW Brown Road. Follow that for about half a mile and enter Villebois.

Leave early, stay for a few hours or hang out all night as participants walk around the track at Inza R Wood Middle School. Bring a chair, warm clothing, a flashlight and umbrella, but please leave your dogs at home. For those hearty souls who want to spend the night, you may bring a tent and sleeping bags. Food and beverages will be supplied by local stores and restaurants for a small fee.

Area residents have formed the Villebois Community Team and welcome others to join them. By participating, you honor cancer survivors, pay tribute to the lives lost to the disease and raise money to help fight it.
