An Update from Legend Homes and Legend at Villebois
Everyone wants to know what’s up with Legend Homes in the Villebois community in Wilsonville, Oregon?
Here is an update from Jim Chapman, President of Legend Homes.
Legend Homes is now in the final stage of our Chapter 11 filing. We have filed our final plan, are currently working through the next step of reorganization procedures and expect to emerge by the third quarter of 2009.
Since filing for Chapter 11 in June of 2008, we have been able to continue regular operations while we reorganize our capital structure. We anticipate that Legend Homes will ultimately become a stronger organization with long-term financial stability.
We want to assure current and potential buyers that Legend Homes is not going out of business. Legend Homes has been around since 1965 and our solid reputation is based on decades of creating quality homes and honest and responsible business practices. Yes, the housing market is down in Portland, but we’ve been making sales. In fact, our latest marketing efforts through NewHomeSale.org resulted in 24 net sales for the first quarter of 2009! Sales of Legend Homes are more than sufficient to run a viable business.
For over 40 years, Legend Homes has been a key fixture in Portland’s homebuilding industry. As the market leader in the design and construction of innovative homes in the greater Portland and Corvallis metropolitan areas, Legend Homes is known for high-quality green homes that are crafted with premium materials to ensure sound structures, enduring strength, and improved air quality and energy efficiency. Legend Homes is a two-time recipient of Builder of the Year awards, one from the Oregon Association of Home Builders and one from the Home Builders Association of Metro Portland.
Sincerely,
Jim L. Chapman
President
