Celebrate the Opening of the WES Commuter Rail

As a transit-oriented community, we are excited to offer residents the opportunity to commute from home via Trimet’s new West Side Express Service, starting February 2nd. Dubbed “WES”, the new commuter rail connects residents living in Wilsonville to Tigard, Tualatin and Beaverton. Once in Beaverton, you can hop aboard the MAX and be in downtown Portland in minutes! The Wilsonville WES Station is located a short walk from the Villebois Village Center.

With this new transportation option, you can now enjoy your own “WES Time” instead of sitting in rush-hour traffic. Relax to your favorite tunes on your iPod, read a good book or take advantage of the free wireless Internet service offered on WES and update your Facebook page. Just don’t worry about driving – leave that to the WES driver! Click here to read the winning essays in WES’s Commute Time Essay Contest, in which the public was asked to share how they’ll spend their time aboard WES.

WES will run 5:20-10 a.m. and 3:30-8 p.m., Monday through Friday. WES Week (February 2nd-6th) will offer activities and giveaways at every station along its route, ending at the Beaverton Transit Center.

Take a free WES ride on Friday, January 30th between 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Space is limited, so be sure to get there early if you want to check out Trimet’s newest contribution to public transportation throughout the Portland metro area.
