New SMART Service Begins Today in Wilsonville
The South Metro Area Regional Transit (SMART) announced today that all bus routes will now serve SMART Central at Wilsonville Station, where passengers can transfer to SMART bus routes, Cherriots 1X and Canby Area Transit.
SMART is a bus line that serves the residents of the City of Wilsonville as well as outlying areas like Canby, Salem and the south end of Portland. Passengers use this transportation option as the smart choice for commuting in and around the Wilsonville area. Visit SMART’s website, www.ridesmart.com, to check schedules and route maps as some service has changed and new service has been added.
As a transit-oriented community, the Villebois Village Center offers residents easy access to Wilsonville Station and SMART. Located at 9699 SW Barber Street, the transit center is within walking distance of the community and includes 400 Park & Ride spaces and 48 bike locker spaces. In addition to serving SMART, Wilsonville Station is also a hub for TriMet’s TriMet’s Westside Express Service (WES) commuter rail, which will begin running on February 2, 2009.
